  • swingin’ on the gallows pole

It’s a funny thing, I always get more hits when I forget to madly check the stats all the time. (The stats page now says 1470, but there was about 300 before that, so I guess almost 1800 hits on just the main page since April isn’t bad at all.

I seem to be entering a mad Led Zeppelin phase. Watch out.

  • we can get down

Finally got my Proxim RangeLAN2 network working. Now I can sit on my couch and IRC, or walk around the house and send e-mail from my Newton. I’ll probably write a page about getting this set up sometime soon.

This week I’m lounging around a home before school. Planning on working on my Newton site this week, as well as a few other things. Recieved my newest Neo Geo Pocket Color game the other day, Crush Roller. Nothing like mindless arcade puzzle fun. And it only cost me $10. Nice.

Song: A Tribe Called Quest – We Can Get Down Hit the city streets to enhance my soul
I can kick a rhyme over ill drum rolls
With a kick, snare, kicks and high hat
Skilled in the trade of that old boom bap

  • do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup

I had to resist the urge to slay every single person on the subway with a newspaper today. The sheer volume of newsprint being devoured astounds me and yet no one reading these papers seems to give a damn.

In other news, the hardware fairy has visited me this week and bestowed upon me some Proxim RangeLAN2 wireless network hardware, which I am about to put into good use in my Newton once I get the stupid security IDs worked out.

  • one note samba

Must overcome urge to stay at home… must go to work for two more days…

  • no snorkels in the pool

I really have nothing to say. I’m done work this week. My sister should be back from Europe tomorrow. Work has been rather uneventful lately. I’ve been trying to spend less time on my computer in the evening and sleep more instead. I’ve been /desperately/ trying to buy Proxim wireless networking hardware online, with mixed results. Spending much less time on IRC as well. I’m going back to school in two weeks: christ. Apathy seems to have set in.

  • ain’t that a kick in the head

This has got to be the world’s most hardcore PS/2.

Bought two CDs yesterday, both soundtracks: one from Out of Sight and one from Grass, just because I happened to notice it. Am I keeping either one of them? No. It was pretty disgusting to spend $50 on two CDs to find that they both have less than 50 minutes of music. The recording industry disgusts me yet again. That’s too bad, because the music from Out of Sight is pretty cool.

alt.adjective.noun.verb.verb.verb is one of those newsgroups that is way too funny for its own good. Their FAQ is a great read. You really get used to reading and decoding things like that after a while. Thanks to meepdot for the link.

My new favourite web comic is SinFest. No, it’s not pr0n, it is somewhat rank though, but damn funny.

I’m on a retro-gaming kick again. It seems like every eight months or so I simply must pick up Star Control II and finish it from memory again. It’s funny how the best part of a game that involved travelling around space trying to save the universe is reading the witticisms of alien races.

Song: Star Control II – Hyperspace Theme Not much more to be said about this.

  • the night is on my mind

Moved back home this weekend. I am no longer constantly knee-deep in cat hair. But now I’m back to a 45+ minute commute. Oh, living on campus will be grand. Less than a month to go…

  • death to CSoft

If you’ve been trying to send me mail at chuma.org, but getting happy qmail bounce notices instead, you can blame CubeSoft Communications, my hosting service (not for long, though). Due to a horribly botched Mail Transport Agent migration (from sendmail to qmail) I am unable to recieve any e-mail at chuma.org. For almost THREE DAYS. I am currently trying to find out who I have to sleep with to get my service restored. I am also rather pissed and plan to ditch CSoft as soon as I possibly can – if you can point me to a good hsoting service or colocation service in the Toronto area let me know, somehow, I don’t know how, just yell really loudly or something.
