A novel way to get a job…

I was walking downtown at lunchtime today and saw this guy standing outside First Canadian Place at Bay and King – arguably the busiest intersection in Toronto, and the centre of the financial district. A novel way to try and get a job, that’s for sure. Maybe he should have a phone number or something on his sign – or is that considered soliciting? Click for the full-size image.

Desperate.

Last night was quite the adventure in networking. I played Mario Kart: Double Dash in LAN mode, with my friend Jon who lives about 200km away in London, Ontario. No, we don’t have a cable that long – we used some very cool software called Warp Pipe.

Warp Pipe was easy enough to setup, however the performance was lacking. On my end most of the games stuttered quite a bit. I guess this is the price to pay for putting your packets on the bit bad ‘net instead of keeping them safe on the LAN. Still I thought that the performance would be better.

Well I was browsing the forums over at the Warp Pipe and it seems like the problem might have been Norton Antivirus on my computer… I guess I’ll just have to try again.

    • Work work work work
    • Doing training at work (sucks)
    • Didn’t go to the extremely cool WWNC, now regretting it, but going to the next one even it it’s located at the centre of the earth
    • Succeeded in letting people down
    • Busiest four day week EVER was last week. Actually, it was probably my busiest week of work ever, period.
    • Saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse, it was OK, fun to see TONS of locations around Toronto turned into “Racoon City”
    • Saw Shaun of the Dead, it was hysterically funny while being gory at the same time, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It’s getting a North American theatrical release now, so go see it!

    post I resemble this remark…

Broadband users are impatient – Apparently people who have Broadband expect the same speed of service in real life. I can definately vouch for that. I’ve personally had broadband in some form since 1998 and even before then had broadband in high school. I’m also highly impatient in line at stores.
