The weekend was nice. It’s nice to do almost nothing sometimes. Oh well, back to here. Not that here isn’t great too, there’s just more work to do.
Yesterday we cleaned. And cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. And then I built LEGO.

Musicially, I’ve been all over the place lately. From game soundtracks (Chrono Trigger, yum!) to Phish to Moby to Shaggy, my musical mood can probably be best described as mild schizophrenia.
Classes are heating up. Many assignments and the like. Ah, yes, school, I remember what that means. I have to think about my course selection for next semester already. Grrr.
Sandy went for some surgery on Wednesday. Not a major procedure, mind you, but she was still scared and so was I. She’s doing as well as can be expected right now, thanks to all of her friends who’ve been supporting her and gave her flowers 🙂
I really haven’t been writing a lot since this September 11 thing. And not because it affected me so deeply. Well, that morning I was thinking that Bill was alright, but then I found out that he was on the roof of his building taking photos of the whole thing. I’ve just had nothing that I needed to get off my chest out to the world, it seems. Maybe it’s because I have someone to talk to and who will listen to me at any time of the day, about anything at all. I still like to keep track of some things here though. Like lists of things I’m working on! Yeah!

Must… find… time… to… write
I might be getting a bit of a cold. My throat was sore yesterday, and I’m a little bit congested today, but nothing too bad. Hopefully I’ll shake it off, as I hate being sick.
Tomorrow I should get my paycheque from Resnet and on Friday get paid from the theatre. Yay! Must remember to curb my spending.
I decided to do all of my e-mail on my Newton. Every now and then I flip-flop back and forth between my Newton and a desktop for e-mail. The Newton is great because I can compose and write replies anywhere at all. But the only downside is finding a place where I can plug into the net and send/receive those messages. The other day I found an unadorned Ethernet jack in a lounge in the University Centre… I think I’ll be trying to use that sometime soon.
I also went back to using my RangeLAN2 wireless card around the apartment. It’s fun to do e-mail from the couch, totally wirelessly. Hopefully some good WaveLAN drivers for the Newton will come out soon so I won’t be the only one doing this 🙂
I just haven’t found the time to write anything in the past week and a half. Yes, it’s that busy for a student coming back to school.
Today was the first anniversary of Sandy and I getting together. It’s really hard to believe that we’ve been together for a whole year. It seems like a lot longer. We actually exchanged gifts yesterday because we’re both really impatient 🙂 She got me a beautiful new watch, and I got her a new ring. And “the kittens” got me some Bruce Lee DVDs 🙂 Today we had shopping to do and went out for a nice dinner at the Carden St Cafe. Where else?
Photos from my friend Bill Shamam in New York of the disaster.
Not much more to say right now.
Well, last night I demoed my Director presentation for the theatre. It went great; everyone was really impressed with the quality of the video. I just have to finish it up tonight and burn a final version and they they’ll have a looping presentation that shows movie trailers, ads and the like. Nifty.
Today was the first day of special classes. It’s strange, but it felt good to be back to classes. It’s going to suck taking silly first and second year courses though. My own fault for messing them up the first time around.
Sandy’s been sick the past few days, which has been a little hard on me. I’ve been doing basicially all the cooking, and taking care of her when I’m not working at ResNet. But I know that I’d expect the same from her if I was sick, so it’s alright 🙂 We tried to bike to school together today but I realized quickly that there was no air in her tires. Tonight I have to fix her bike. Back to work for now though.
Busy as nuts. Busy busy busy. Had a meeting about orientation events today, worked for 5 hours at Resnet support, then had to walk home because I forgot the buses aren’t running late today because of the holiday. Which would have been fine, except then it started raining and thunderstorming and then there was some thunder that sounded like it was inside my head (REAL close) and so I ran the rest of the way home. Now I’m working on a Director presentation that has to be ready by friday.
I made it back to Guelph. Yesterday was really really bloody tiring for
me, and it didn’t help that Sandy’s friend Laura decided to call at 10am
this morning. Grrr. And I’ve had a headache all day that must be due to
coming off of my four-month coffee binge. I had green tea this morning
and a Coke (!) this afternoon and it’s still with me.
But I’m here, and it’s great to be here. Most of my crap is unpacked. But my head hurts. More later.
Guelph, here I come!
