  • yes, I’m still around

I just haven’t found the time to write anything in the past week and a half. Yes, it’s that busy for a student coming back to school.

Today was the first anniversary of Sandy and I getting together. It’s really hard to believe that we’ve been together for a whole year. It seems like a lot longer. We actually exchanged gifts yesterday because we’re both really impatient 🙂 She got me a beautiful new watch, and I got her a new ring. And “the kittens” got me some Bruce Lee DVDs 🙂 Today we had shopping to do and went out for a nice dinner at the Carden St Cafe. Where else?

  • uh, holy shit.

Photos from my friend Bill Shamam in New York of the disaster.

Not much more to say right now.

  • it’s good to be back

Well, last night I demoed my Director presentation for the theatre. It went great; everyone was really impressed with the quality of the video. I just have to finish it up tonight and burn a final version and they they’ll have a looping presentation that shows movie trailers, ads and the like. Nifty.

Today was the first day of special classes. It’s strange, but it felt good to be back to classes. It’s going to suck taking silly first and second year courses though. My own fault for messing them up the first time around.

Sandy’s been sick the past few days, which has been a little hard on me. I’ve been doing basicially all the cooking, and taking care of her when I’m not working at ResNet. But I know that I’d expect the same from her if I was sick, so it’s alright 🙂 We tried to bike to school together today but I realized quickly that there was no air in her tires. Tonight I have to fix her bike. Back to work for now though.

  • a pimpin’ big daddy with a lincoln town car

Busy as nuts. Busy busy busy. Had a meeting about orientation events today, worked for 5 hours at Resnet support, then had to walk home because I forgot the buses aren’t running late today because of the holiday. Which would have been fine, except then it started raining and thunderstorming and then there was some thunder that sounded like it was inside my head (REAL close) and so I ran the rest of the way home. Now I’m working on a Director presentation that has to be ready by friday.

  • so, I’m back

I made it back to Guelph. Yesterday was really really bloody tiring for me, and it didn’t help that Sandy’s friend Laura decided to call at 10am this morning. Grrr. And I’ve had a headache all day that must be due to coming off of my four-month coffee binge. I had green tea this morning and a Coke (!) this afternoon and it’s still with me.

But I’m here, and it’s great to be here. Most of my crap is unpacked. But my head hurts. More later.

  • done like dinner

    Guelph, here I come!

  • simple things make me happy.

    • Coffee makes me happy.
    • Music makes me happy.
    • Haircuts make me happy.
  • another struggle just to get from 9 to 5

two more days…. two more days…

  • had a dream I could turn back time / had to stop to rewind my memory

Last week of work of the summer. Yay. Have to train new person who is replacing me. Person knows next to nothing. Not yay. Sigh.

Really, really stuck on listening to David Usher. Really stuck. Good album. Jordan says that Alone In The Universe is a ripoff of U2. I might agree, except I don’t care. Actually, listening to it now, I don’t agree with her, except that the opening does sound almost exactly like U2’s One.

And tonight, the subway was totally messed up and not running, and dad is working late, so I’m waiting at work so I can take the 6:40 train with him. Dammit. I’m looking forward to not being on a commuting schedule.

  • time for a little libyan death metal thrash

Err, I mean, time for some MLP.
