ImageMagick is a software suite to create, edit, and convert bitmap images. This build of ImageMagick is fairly complete for most uses, but it doesn’t support some image formats you might expect, namely SVG and PostScript. However is does include ‘import’ which will finally let Pad 2 users easily make screenshots! You only need the first one to actually use it – the rest are strictly for developers.


A highly-touted e-book reader supporting many formats (fb2, HTML, Plucker, Palmdoc, zTxt, TCR, RTF, CHM, OEB, Mobipocket) and features (resizing, full-screen mode, rotate, and more). Many thanks to Pepper forum user / fbreader developer MishaS for providing the SRC RPM that I used.


An SMB/CIFS/Windows Network browsing program! Will let you easily browse Windows shares and mount/unmount them. Requires the GTK+ 1.2.10 RPM below.

A powerful and customizable GTK2 based file manager with a classic two-pane interface. Installs to /usr/bin/emelfm2. Shouldn’t require any special RPMs to be installed. This package is for Pepper Software version 2.1.1


Provides vncviewer vncconfig vncserver vncpasswd x0vncserver. You will likely be the most interested in vncviewer. x0vncserver is supposed to be a crude VNC server which polls an X display. Compatible with Pepper Software version 2.1 and higher, please choose the correct version below


Allegro is a cross-platform game programming library. Pretty sweet. Compatible with Pepper Software version 2.1 and higher


GTK+ library version 1.2.10. Useful for building older GTK+ based apps. Requires glib 1.2.10, provided in /opt/montavista/pro/devkit/arm/xscale_le/packages/pro/ – it might even be installed by default, I can’t remember. This version has been updated to work with Pepper Software version 2.1.1 and 3.0

Enca is a library and utility for Extremely Naive Charset Analysis.
