I really have nothing to say. I’m done work this week. My sister should be back from Europe tomorrow. Work has been rather uneventful lately. I’ve been trying to spend less time on my computer in the evening and sleep more instead. I’ve been /desperately/ trying to buy Proxim wireless networking hardware online, with mixed results. Spending much less time on IRC as well. I’m going back to school in two weeks: christ. Apathy seems to have set in.

ain’t that a kick in the head
This has got to be the world’s most hardcore PS/2.
Bought two CDs yesterday, both soundtracks: one from Out of Sight and one from Grass, just because I happened to notice it. Am I keeping either one of them? No. It was pretty disgusting to spend $50 on two CDs to find that they both have less than 50 minutes of music. The recording industry disgusts me yet again. That’s too bad, because the music from Out of Sight is pretty cool.

alt.adjective.noun.verb.verb.verb is one of those newsgroups that is way too funny for its own good. Their FAQ is a great read. You really get used to reading and decoding things like that after a while. Thanks to meepdot for the link.
My new favourite web comic is SinFest. No, it’s not pr0n, it is somewhat rank though, but damn funny.
I’m on a retro-gaming kick again. It seems like every eight months or so I simply must pick up Star Control II and finish it from memory again. It’s funny how the best part of a game that involved travelling around space trying to save the universe is reading the witticisms of alien races.
Song: Star Control II – Hyperspace Theme Not much more to be said about this.

the night is on my mind
Moved back home this weekend. I am no longer constantly knee-deep in cat hair. But now I’m back to a 45+ minute commute. Oh, living on campus will be grand. Less than a month to go…

death to CSoft
If you’ve been trying to send me mail at chuma.org, but getting happy qmail bounce notices instead, you can blame CubeSoft Communications, my hosting service (not for long, though). Due to a horribly botched Mail Transport Agent migration (from sendmail to qmail) I am unable to recieve any e-mail at chuma.org. For almost THREE DAYS. I am currently trying to find out who I have to sleep with to get my service restored. I am also rather pissed and plan to ditch CSoft as soon as I possibly can – if you can point me to a good hsoting service or colocation service in the Toronto area let me know, somehow, I don’t know how, just yell really loudly or something.

having an
averageshitty weekendI did nothing this weekend. Yesterday I did nothing. It sucked. I was sick. Then I realized late that I totally forgot about even considering going to the Rahzel show, but by that time I just felt too sucky. I was so lazy that I ordered in food – I just didn’t feel like cooking anything. Fuckin’ sucked.
Today was better – I went for sushi with Calum and his sister, and then sat around at Calum’s house and pretended to build LEGO but really just sat around, are food and watched The Insider on DVD. Played lots of NeoGeo Pocket on the subway, which was good. I love that little machine.
Meepdot is a neat-sounding site that an acquaintance of mine from IRC runs. Cool name.

milestone
This page now has 1000 confirmed hits since May 25 (it’s over 1300 if you count from April, but I don’t have stats from that time period.)

in the middle of that riot
I’m starting to get sick of the NewtonTalk mailing list. I get sick of the same questions being asked over and over again by either clueless people who are new to the list or stupid AOL users who seem to only know how to send dumb questions, not actually read or learn any useful information, or people who are too stupid or lazy to look things up themselves.
Yes, I’m ranting and raving right now. I can’t wrap my head around people not being able to do a simple search for some easy-to-find information. The internet is full of goddamn information. Use it instead of adding to the cruft. If this continues I’m going to start answering dumb questions with links to search engines. Half the fucking time I can answer a question by providing an exact link to The Newton FAQ or another useful page. Every week I post an announcement to the mailing list and the newsgroups that yes, there IS a FAQ and yes, it IS up to date and yes, you SHOULD read it before you ask simple questions like “How do I install a package?” Bah. I think I’m just getting bitter and jaded in my old age. Time to write a book.
Song: The Tragically Hip – Fireworks
Meredith (I’m not sure if I can call her my girlfriend due to our current sketchy seperation) doesn’t like The Tragically Hip. I think they’re pretty good, to the point where I once listened to Wheat Kings for 72 hours non-stop. On repeat, for three days. I could do the same with this song I think. You say you didn’t give a fuck about hockey
Well I never saw someone say that beforeOh, and my definition of a Canadian is that a Canadian must be able to watch hockey and cheer for Canada. Anyone who is unable to do so it thrown into the lake immediately.

the cats don’t have names.
cats are nature’s hackers… think about how they’re always so curious, poking their nose into things and trying to figure things out.
